Henri Cartier-Bresson is stated to have stated after he had given up photography.

"All I care about these days is portray-images has never been more than a way into portray, a sort of wireless drawing."

Nobody disagrees that painting is artwork, albeit the standard might range but it's at all times considered art. Why isn't this the case with images? It's agreed that there's an art to images but this means this can be a craft but images of the perfect order is referred to as "photographic art". Likewise photographs created on or greater by a pc are labelled as "digital art" or "computer artwork". While painting is simply art, be it water colour, oil or acrylic.

Partly the issue lies with the artist. The discussion about photography is littered knee deep with technique and colored with technical jargon. Seldom if ever is the art discussed. I have but to discover a discussion a couple of painter's work where the kinds and sizes of the brushes scores a mention. And quite frankly who in reality cares? If I used to be to twiddle the knobs like Ansel Adams would I make an Adam's photograph? The simple resolution isn't any, I am not Ansel Adams.

The photographer makes the photograph with their attitudes, critiques, experience and aesthetic. The very same attributes that the painter brings to their work, as does the sculptor, the writer or the composer. Technical talent only makes technically correct work. The most attention-grabbing paintings is that that's in the market pushing the boundaries, ignoring the principles and making it up as they cross along, discovering new varieties of expression.

The advance of the digital darkroom heralds a new age for photography. Gone are the days of mechanical drawing, now complete blown paintings are as accessible as the artist's skill to imagine them. With attitude, opinion, revel in and aesthetic being the guiding ideas not the recipes of individuals who have long past before.

It is a play floor, do not fret about mistakes it is via them that we learn. As some of the largest artist's of the 20 th Century, Pablo Picasso, stated, "Each and every kid is an artist. The issue is learn how to stay an artist as soon as he grows up".
