Many universities sink thousands, if not millions, of dollars in to buying brand new equipment for their various science and engineering departments and laboratories, and often pass these costs on to students in the form of rapidly-rising tuition costs, hidden fees and a general air of frivolous spending. University Test Equipment from Test Equipment Connection is one way to cut these costs. While many universities enjoy endowments and annual budgets that would make many small, pre-industrial nations green with envy, having such a wealth of discretionary funds does not, in and of itself, justify paying unnecessarily high costs for necessary electrical testing gear and equipment. Shopping smart, buying equipment that is used or refurbished to a high degree, saving money and allowing for the savings to be passed on to students in the shape of lowered or static costs or even investing the savings in to workforce development, pension and retirement plans or hiring for new academic and staff positions can be a great boon to universities at home and abroad.

Using electrical testing equipment, like any piece of technical gear, can often be viewed skeptically when purchased or browsed as a used or refurbished item. A great deal of faith is placed in the high prices paid for new electrical testing equipment such as calibrators and oscilloscopes, as if high sticker prices automatically translate in to increased reliability, performance or durability. This is not necessarily the case, and even when it is, the incredibly high prices for which brand new electrical testing equipment is selling does not necessarily gel with the requirements of many engineering or electrical needs on college campuses. For instrumentation that is likely to be handled, used and abused by students and faculty semester after semester, purchasing used or refurbished test equipment designed for educational use can be the way to go. University Test Equipment that causes cost overruns in departmental budgets will surely result in some degree of speculation as to the relative department's procurement practices, and may even result in some form of censure, or even loss of purchasing power for individual university programs. University Test Equipment needs to be durable, safe and reliable, but it does not necessarily need to be brand new equipment. There are quality purveyors of used and refurbished electrical testing equipment, and opportunities to save on purchases should never be passed up without at least considering the long and short-term benefits associated with such purchases. Often, used electrical testing equipment is refurbished to work just as well as brand new devices, are in great cosmetic shape, and will easily meet the day-to-day demands placed upon individual units by students and faculty alike, not to mention the facilities maintenance departments who so diligently establish and maintain what are often very complex electrical networks to serve the needs of students and faculty.

University Test equipment in the form of electrical testing gear can be found at great deals when shopping for used and refurbished units, and with high-quality customer service from knowledgeable sales and technical professionals, shopping for used equipment can not only be a breeze, but it can save a great deal of money on departmental budgets and provide for many years of use by students and faculty alike.
