If you're not a photographer, chances are, you'll leave everything to your photographer when it comes to the coverage of your special day. This is ideal since these photographers are knowledgeable and skillful when it comes to deciding the approach to be used. However, this doesn't mean that you need not do some homework yourself. Having an idea of how everything will be covered will be better than being oblivious about the entire thing and ending up with regrets.

Of course, what you'll want to research about are the kinds of photography that you might actually prefer over the others. Choosing your own signature style ahead of time can also be helpful. Basically, all the principles are the same so you won't be having a hard time. Having a good grasp of how things will go to the point where you can make smart suggestions is normally the aim.

There are presently three major approaches to covering special events these days and one of them is illustrative in nature. Here, the photographer takes on a creative approach and incorporates different elements of this creativity such as color, lighting and texture into the images. Having the couple engage in spontaneous activities is mainly the objective. The photographer randomly clicks among the different moments and he may choose the best ones.

Photojournalism is one more approach that the photographer may use where he stands by and captures each moments as it happens. Photojournalists don't like photographing poses and instead prefer to take everything as an instance in history. This kind of photography focuses in capturing the reality behind each picture. This kind of approach allows no time to practice where or how to shoot a moment therefore, one must be very skilled and experienced. If one lacks those necessary skills, he may not be able to capture such moments with quality.

The third approach is traditional which involves the traditional way that people would be photographed - in poses. Most photographers are practicing this kind of approach. The other two approaches are more modern in nature and they are also accepted and appreciated these days like the traditional approach.
