Sometimes people do not have advance notice that they need to travel abroad. Those who have never done so, or have not in a while, may be faced with the need to obtain a next day pasport. There are private companies that provide rush processing of both new and renewal passport applications.

While the US State Department does provide rush passport options in the case of death or critical health catastrophes being faced by family members abroad, the process is available on its website. Even under this program, it is nearly impossible to get a document the next day without physically applying at one of the relatively few main state department passport centers found primarily in places like NYC and LA. This is especially true for first time passport applicants.

The private companies specializing in 24 hour pasport processing vary in their time in business. Do some Internet research to select a firm that appears to have a good reputation. The companies providing these rush services charge different fees, so do a price comparison while checking the reputations. However, keep in mind that low cost does not always meet best service.

Realize upfront that there are significant fees involved in getting a document that typically takes four to six weeks to receive without any expedition requests in your hands the next day. Typically, next day rush jobs are due to family issues, unexpected business opportunities or a once in a lifetime travel opportunity that came up at the last moment. Whatever the reason, accomplishing this in the next day timeframe requires organization on the passport owner's part.

Time is added to the process of obtaining a passport because a first-time applicant for a passport will need to appear in person before an authorized agent. The applicant will then need to send the private processing company the approved paperwork contained in a sealed envelope provided by the agent. Those renewing their passports will not need to appear in person if some conditions are met.

The fees charged by the private processing companies are over and above those charged by the federal government. The government charges $135 for the passport book and a $25 fee for the execution agent's services. The charges from the private processing company may add about $200 on top of this for next-day service. These companies may require advance notice of overnight service and pay for the processing at time of reservation.

The completed application will need to be delivered to the firm by First Am delivery service if it cannot be hand delivered by the requestor. With timeframes this tight, a no show application can mean no go on the next day promise but with the full fee still due as reserved. The firm has reserved resources to complete a rush processing and cannot be responsible for the applicant's late submission.
Author Resource:- The application will be processed and the 24 hour pasport will be in the hands of the traveler. Getting a passport is one less thing the person will need to think about.
